You can schedule early orthodontic evaluations at Kidzy Dental to understand growth, spacing, bite development, and whether Phase I treatment is needed.
Phase I orthodontics is early interceptive treatment for selected children while some baby teeth are still present. Not every child needs early treatment, but an orthodontic evaluation can identify crowding, crossbites, jaw growth concerns, harmful habits, airway-related clues, and eruption problems while growth can still be guided.
Why an early orthodontic evaluation helps
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends children have an orthodontic checkup around age 7. This does not mean every child needs treatment; it means the orthodontist can identify issues early and choose between monitoring and intervention.
Problems Phase I may address
Early treatment may help with crossbites, severe crowding, narrow arches, protruding teeth, space loss, certain oral habits, or eruption concerns. The goal is to guide growth and reduce preventable complexity.
Observation can be the right answer
Many children are placed on growth observation rather than immediate treatment. A good consultation should explain what is normal, what needs watching, and what would trigger treatment later.
